How To Make Creamy Lotion

Store bought lotions are full of chemical additives and preservatives, but it is easy to make a simple creamy lotion at home. The following recipe is safe to store at room temperature and has a shelf life of 6 months. It is a heavier, creamy lotion best suited to after bath or nighttime moisturizing.

  • 1 oz lanolin
  • 3 oz jojoba or almond oil
  • 2/3 cup mineral oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp borax
  • optional essential oils or scents
